Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 12:00 PM.
In-room dining is available 24 hours a day. A limited overnight menu is offered beginning at 10:00 PM.
The outdoor pool is open from 8 am until dusk and closes at dark. Pool bar hours may vary seasonally.
Our reservations team is available daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Please note the team is unavailable for a brief period on Thursdays from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM for a weekly meeting.
Gift cards may be purchased at the hotel gift shop, the front desk, or the spa reception.
The Umstead does not offer a dedicated airport shuttle. However, our concierge team would be happy to assist in arranging transportation in advance.
The Umstead Spa is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Spa amenities, including the sauna and whirlpool, are reserved for guests with scheduled spa treatments of over $185 or more.
Guests must be 18 years of age or older to access the spa and its facilities.
Reservations are recommended for all dining outlets. Local guests are welcome to dine at the bar and lounge on a walk-in basis. Bar and lounge reservations are reserved for hotel guests. Reservations are required for the five-star dinner experience at Herons.
Yes. Our culinary team is happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions and allergies with advance notice.
Valet parking is available for $21 per evening. Complimentary self-parking is also available.
To protect the privacy and experience of our guests, professional photography is not permitted in the public areas or outdoor spaces of The Umstead Hotel and Spa without prior approval.
Professional photography is permitted for Umstead weddings or with special permission from our marketing team. In-house guests and groups may arrange professional photography within their guest rooms or reserved event spaces.
Guests are welcome to take casual photos using personal phones or cameras throughout the property, including in the hotel, bar and lounge, and Herons. This policy applies to professional photography only.
