    Event begins at 11:00 am and will be held in The Umstead Ballroom. WINi tickets may be purchased here and are available through Walter Magazine only.

  • NC Partnership for Child Nutrition Luncheon

    The Umstead Hotel and Spa and Herons Restaurant is proud to be supporting the North Carolina Partnership for Child Nutrition. Join us Monday, April 8th for the launch of their organization and to learn more about their mission and meet the board. Enjoy a four-course lunch created by some of the areas top culinary talent including Herons Executive Chef and James Beard semifinalist, Steven Devereaux Greene, Pastry Chef Jonathan Fisher, James Beard Semifinalist Chef Cheetie Kumar of Garland, and Chef Sean Fowler of Mandolin, all who support the organization’s vision and commitment to child nutrition.

    Luncheon begins at 12:00 pm, tickets and registration can be found here.

  • Art Lecture and Gallery Opening

    The Umstead Hotel and Spa is pleased to welcome Linda Ruth Dickinson and her exhibit, “Equilibrium,” to The Umstead Gallery.  Join us April 11th for an art lecture followed by a chance to mingle with the artist at a welcome reception.  As a threshold entrance to memory and communion outside the realm normally inhabited in our day-to-day, her works, evocative of that inner eye, encourage a viewing as altars of possibility that suggest a tranquility observant and embracing of the declaration and dialogue between Heaven and Earth. Dickinson states, “I want each painting to feel balanced with the possession of a sense of equilibrium and the viewer to come away intrigued and or refreshed, and that those responses lead them to a sense of renewal.”

    Lecture will begin at 6:00 pm in the Salon, followed by a reception in the Art Gallery and includes wine and passed hors d’oeuvres. Kindly speak with our Reservations Department at 919-447-4050 to reserve your place

    Celebrate the Easter holiday this spring in Herons. This special buffet features savory display stations and entrees created by James Beard Semifinalist, Executive Chef Steven Greene. In addition to an array of desserts created by Pastry Chef Jonathan Fisher, our Easter Garden will be filled with bon-bons, chocolate bunnies, and other sweet treats. Easter Buffet menu available here.

    Buffet is $85 per person and $25 per child with reservations available from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please speak with our Reservations Department at 919-447-4050 to reserve your table. A $25 non-refundable deposit required at time of booking.
