  • White Truffle Dinner

    Join us the month of December for a special White Truffle Kaiseki Menu available only in Herons. Called the "white diamond of Italy," this menu boasts seven courses featuring the most delicate and rare truffle in the world, providing a sensory experience unlike any other. Full menu available here.

    Reservations are required. Due to the importing of the truffles, tickets must be purchased one week prior to the desired date of reservation. Tickets are $295 plus tax and gratuity and can be purchased at 919-447-4050. Wine pairings are also available.  *note: The White Truffle Kaiseki Menu will not be available on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

  • Southern Foodways Alliance Book Tour

    The Umstead invites you to join us to celebrate the release of The Southern Foodways Alliance Guide to Cocktails on Tuesday, December 19th. Filled with history and tradition, this cocktail guide features nearly 90 easy-to-follow recipes in addition to a full chapter on perfectly-paired cocktail bites. Mingle with co-authors Sara Camp Milam and Jerry Slater as they sign books, regale us with stories of the South’s unique history of cocktail drinking, and explore recipes both classic and contemporary.

    The event begins at 6:00 pm and will be held in the Ballroom Pre-Function. Tickets are $45 and include a copy of The Southern Foodways Alliance Guide to Cocktails, two cocktails from the book, and small bites. Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable and can be purchased at 919-447-4050.
