Spring has finally sprung at The Umstead! April has arrived, and with it brings North Carolina Beer Month. But that’s not all the month has to offer, as we enjoy the outdoors and warm weather at these events:

Trophy Brewing Co. Beer Dinner: Kicking us off with North Carolina Beer Month is a four course dinner with Trophy Brewing Co. Join us April 5th on the lakeside terrace where we will mingle and dine with the creators of this unique brewery. Reception begins at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $90 plus tax and gratuity and are available at 919-447-4050.

You are Here: Light, Color, and Sound Experiences: There is already a lot of buzz about the upcoming exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and we can’t wait to go. Opening on April 7th, this exhibit features immersive art installations with large-scale light works, sound installations, video works, and mixed-media room size environments. Interactive, and awe-inspiring, You are Here will be available for viewing until July 22nd. For tickets and more information, visit their website here.

Art Lecture and Gallery Opening: Continuing on in the theme of art, The Umstead’s newest gallery artist, Elizabeth Bradford, will be giving an Art + Nature lecture on April 18th, prior to the official opening of her new exhibit, “Time Out of Time.” Join us for wine and hors d’ oeuvres as we learn about her incredible process. Event is complimentary, kindly RSVP at 919-447-4050. More information is available here.

Untapped Beer Tasting: In honor of NC Beer Month, on Thursday, April 19th we will be hosting a special Umstead Untapped Beer Tasting featuring local Cary, NC brewery, Bond Brothers Beer Company.  Recently named the best new brewery in the country by USA Today, and a recipient of the silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival, this event will be led by Head of Blending and certified cicerone, Sean McKinney.  Tickets are $40 all inclusive and can be purchased at 919-447-4050.

Brewery Bhavana Dinner in Herons: closing out a month of beer events, The Umstead is celebrating Brewery Bhavana's one year anniversary with a beer dinner in Herons on April 24th! Nationally recognized, Bhavana has been recently named one of America's best new restaurants by Bon Appetit Magazine and a James Beard semifinalist for Best New Restaurant in the Country. Inspired by the brewery, Herons Restaurant will be offering a 5 course dinner created by two-time James Beard semifinalist, Chef Steven Greene, paired perfectly with Brewery Bhavana's creations. Reception begins at 6:30 pm followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $150 plus tax and gratuity and can be purchased at 919-447-4050. More details are available here.
