Happy 4th of July! We’re ready for cook outs, car rides, and firework celebrations of America’s 242nd birthday. If you’re ready to celebrate too, we know just where to send you:

Morrisville Fireworks Display: Have other plans for July 4th? Then head over to Morrisville for their annual celebration on July 3rd. Held at Morrisville Community park, they plan to kick things off at 6:00 pm with live music and plenty of food trucks to keep you full. Fireworks will begin at dark, feel free to bring your own blankets, chairs, and coolers, but they ask you leave any alcohol and glassware at home. Admission is free, for directions and parking information, visit their website here.

Apex Olde Fashioned Fourth of July: There are plenty of daytime events to enjoy on July 4th, including the Apex Olde Fashioned Fourth of July, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Held in downtown Apex, this event is perfect for the kids, with inflatables, a giant slide, carnival games, climbing wall, and more. Kids under 12 may participate in the Uncle Sam’s Parade of Wheels down Salem street, where you can decorate your bike, wagon, tricycle, and any other non-motorized vehicle to celebrate the day. Finish the festivities with the Apex Fire Department’s Splash Down. Food vendors will be onsite, for more information, visit their website here.

Joel Lane Museum House Independence Day: If you plan to spend July 4th closer to Raleigh, then be sure to check out the “Birthplace of Raleigh” at the Joel Lane Museum House Independence Day celebration. Beginning at 11:00 am, visitors can tour the house staffed by costumed docents and learn more about life in the 18th century. Participate in hands-on activities such as making rag dolls or writing with a quill pen. There will be old-fashioned crafts and games available as well. Admission is free though donations are welcome, more information can be found here.

Town of Cary’s July 4th Celebration: For a full evening of fun and fireworks, visit Kokabooth Amphitheater in Cary as they celebrate the 4th in a big way. Beginning at 3:00 pm, there will be rides and games, a scavenger hunt, magicians, face painters, and a 50-foot Ferris Wheel to enjoy. With the North Carolina Symphony performing at 7:30 pm, followed by the grand firework finale at 9:00 pm, this is truly a show. Admission is free, though pub tables are available to rent for a fee. Details can be found here.

Raleigh 4th of July Fireworks Display: Returning to the NC State Fairgrounds this year, with the launch taking place from the Varsity Lot. Gates open at 6:00 pm, with the fireworks beginning at 9:30 pm. Admission is free and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets, and picnics to enjoy.
