Kim Kauffman combines her dual passions, photography and gardening, in her artwork. Kauffman's focus on the intricacies of plants and flowers allows her to create art that provokes and soothes her viewers. Since 1998, Kauffman has worked on Florilegium, a series of botanically-inspired images in which she uses a cameraless and filmless technique to record her images. Kauffman's work has been included in numerous juried exhibitions all over the country. Her studio is based in Lansing, Michigan.
Kauffman has eleven pieces of artwork on display in the hotel's Art Gallery and in the Umstead Gift Shop. Our Gift Shop staff can also assist with purchasing Kauffman's artwork. For more information please call (919) 447-4065.
